Meet our minister Rev. Jen Sokolowsky
I am delighted to be among you as your minister. I was born and raised in the small town of Picton Ontario, and am the eldest of three girls.
I completed my Bachelor of Arts at McMaster in Hamilton, with a focus on Sociology and Religious Studies. Afterwards I studied in Toronto at Knox College for my Masters of Divinity. I am currently studying for my BSW at Dalhousie University, through their Distance Education program.
I have served in ministry for 20 years. I was ordained in February 2004 to Armour Heights Church in Toronto, as their Associate Minister for Children, Youth and Young Families. Before that I served in a variety of ways at Westminster St. Paul’s in Guelph, Leaside in Toronto, and MacNab St. in Hamilton.
I have a passion for leading worship, providing meaningful pastoral care, nurturing people’s spiritual growth, engaging in social justice issues, and helping people find ways to be a meaningful presence beyond the churches’ walls.
I love being a minister because it gives me the opportunity, in an authentic and deeply meaningful way; to connect and walk alongside people as they journey in faith through life. Growing faith for me, is about leaning into life’s deepest questions.
I have been married for 3 years to a wonderful person named Dave, and have two children, ages 10 and 12. I am committed to walking with my family as together we grow in faith, hope and love.
Join us any Sunday for worship! We would love to have you among us.
